WWI Vets Holliston 1976

The Leonard D. Chesmore Post V.F.W.

Founded in the Autumn of 1946 by veterans of the Spanish American War; World War One and World War Two. Its present members include veterans of the Nicaraguan Campaign, the Korean Campaign, Vietnam War, and Desert Storm, all of whom earned overseas campaign ribbons during periods of hostilities.

The record of the Post in community service is outstanding.

It has prepared and mailed packages to the Gulf II Vet. Fund for the Holliston Military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It has supported the Holliston Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, Girl Scouts, Holliston Youth Baseball and Soccer, Holliston Senior Center, Holliston Food Pantry and the American Red Cross by the use of its quarter and property, personally and financially.

Cooperated with other local groups in the observance of Memorial Day, in the preparation of the Town Honor Roll, in the assistance to both veterans and non-veterans.
